Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective perioperative nursing care across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
- Scrub, circulate, and provide recovery room support as needed to support the perioperative team
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other members of the perioperative team; advocate for patient and family needs
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold the organization’s mission, vision, and values
- Document patient status and interventions accurately; ensure patient safety and sterile technique throughout procedures
- Assist with instrument counts, room setup, and turnover to support efficient operations

Requirements
- Current registered nurse licensure in Maine
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for all full-time/part-time employees in PACU (may obtain within 6 months of hire)
- At least 1 year of medical/surgical or perioperative experience
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to function effectively in a perioperative setting and to scrub, circulate, and work in recovery as needed
- CNOR preferred

Education
- Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensure: Active Maine RN license
- Certifications: BLS required; ACLS required for PACU roles (may obtain within 6 months of hire)
