Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to outpatient oncology patients, including assessments and routine nursing care
- Monitor patient status, administer prescribed medications, manage common side effects, and document care in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case management, and other members of the care team to coordinate plan of care
- Prepare patients for procedures, assist with procedures as directed, and ensure adherence to safety, infection control, and quality standards
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and symptom management
- Participate in holiday coverage as required by unit policy and contribute to overall patient flow and throughput
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in the outpatient oncology specialty
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and Oncology Certification (ONC) per job requirements
- Ability to work in an outpatient hospital setting with a Monday–Friday schedule
- Effective communication and teamwork skills; patient- and family-centered care approach
