Travel Registered Nurse NICU Job
RN II-NICU travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, CA. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit specialty working nights. Start date 04/13/2026 for a 13-week contract. Weekly pay $1,915-$1,956 per week. Hours per week: 36 (3x12-hour nights). Setting: Home Healthcare - Hospice. This assignment is facilitated by Healthforce Healthcare LLC. The RN will plan, coordinate, and provide nursing care for neonates, including medication administration, monitoring for physiologic changes, and addressing psychosocial needs, with opportunities to cross-train and float to Pediatrics as needed. The role is represented by CNA.

Responsibilities
- Provide planning, coordination, and provision of nursing care to NICU patients on assigned nights
- Administer medications, observe and record physiological changes, and address the psychosocial needs of neonates and their families
- Develop and implement individualized care plans; monitor patient responses and adjust as needed
- Educate and support families on newborn care, discharge planning, and warning signs requiring medical attention
- Supervise and delegate appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel within their scope of practice
- Cross-train and float to Pediatrics as needed to support unit coverage and patient care demands
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care, assessments, and interventions
Requirements
- Active California RN license
- Neonatal ICU experience preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (3x12 schedule)
- Willingness to cross-train and float to Pediatrics as needed
- Strong clinical assessment, care planning, and family education skills
- Ability to function effectively in a home healthcare - hospice setting and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
