Overview
Registered Nurse - Charge Acute Care travel position in San Luis Obispo, California. Start date: 08/31/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Guaranteed hours: 40 per week. Weekly pay: $2,445–$2,566 per week. Shift: Day shift, 5x8s (Mon–Fri), 05:00–17:00 with rotating start times. Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital. Responsibilities
- Provide unit-based leadership, coordinating care with the Nurse Manager, Director, physicians, and frontline staff
- Supervise and direct nursing and ancillary personnel across multiple levels of care
- Lead development and revision of individualized care plans and participate in patient/family conferences
- Monitor and optimize patient care delivery, ensuring patient safety, quality of care, and patient satisfaction
- Conduct rounds to assess patient needs, solicit feedback on nursing services, and address concerns timely
- Collaborate with the health care team to improve patient experience and outcomes, including system-level quality initiatives

Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice (California) required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience required; Master’s Degree preferred
- Experience: At least two years of recent field experience; supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills required; two-plus years in charge/lead roles preferred; trauma center experience preferred
- Additional: Ability to work in a trauma center environment; schedule and start times rotate; current BLS certification required
