Travel Registered Nurse Psych Job
Registered Nurse – Psych (Geropsychiatric) position for a travel assignment on the geropsychiatric inpatient unit in Nashua, NH, United States. Start date 07/27/2026 for 13 weeks. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nursing care on the geropsychiatric unit, including mental and physical health assessments and ongoing monitoring of patient conditions.
- Maintain accurate patient reports, histories, and progress notes; document admissions, assessments, and discharge planning timely.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following physician orders; monitor for reactions and side effects.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to develop and update individualized care plans; coordinate nursing activities accordingly.
- Lead therapies and activities within the therapeutic milieu, including daily groups, education, and 1:1 sessions with patients; support discharge planning.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other care team members to ensure safe, coordinated care and smooth transitions.
Requirements
- Licenses and Certifications: Current State of New Hampshire RN license; BLS certification
- Education: Associate degree or diploma in nursing (2-year); Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience: 1 year nursing experience preferred
- Skills and Knowledge: Medical terminology; strong written and verbal communication; ability to work in a geropsychiatric inpatient setting; comfort with group therapy and interdisciplinary collaboration
