MRI Technologist (MRI Tech) – Newark, NY. Travel assignment start 06/22/2026 for Weeks. Weekly pay: $2,662–$2,838 per week. Shift: 5x8 Days, Monday–Friday 12:30 PM–8:30 PM. Setting: Hospital Radiology department (120 beds). No call, weekends, or holidays. NY State license in hand at start; ARRT (R) and MRI certification required.

Responsibilities
- Perform MRI examinations across adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patient populations
- Position patients and select appropriate coils; optimize MRI protocols (including T1/T2, diffusion, perfusion, MRCP, cine, gradient/spin sequences)
- Administer or prepare contrast media as per protocol; establish and maintain IV access when needed
- Monitor patient safety and comfort; adhere to radiation safety, isolation precautions and PPE standards
- Operate MRI equipment (GE systems noted) and generate high-quality images; collaborate with radiologists for interpretive input
- Prepare and document procedures in the EPIC charting system; assist with exam scheduling and adhere to unit policies
- Float as needed within the Radiology department per block scheduling; no on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- NY State license in hand at start
- ARRT (R) certification and MRI certification
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year MRI experience
- EPIC charting experience required
- Ability to work in a hospital Radiology setting and to float as scheduled
- Preferred: Trauma Level I/II and community hospital experience; leadership/charge experience is a plus
- Core MRI skills include cross-sectional anatomy (brain, spine, abdomen, pelvis, extremities, orbits, chest); vascular studies (MRA/MRV); advanced sequences and post-processing; contrast media handling and IVs; radiation safety and PPE
