Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care for neuro and orthopedic procedures, including robotic-assisted cases
- Prepare the operating room, assist with sterile technique, instrument sets, draping, and positioning
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively, collaborating with surgeons and anesthesia to ensure safety and comfort
- Maintain sterile field, manage implants and specialty equipment, perform accurate counts
- Document intraoperative events and post-anesthesia handoffs in the CERNER EMR; support turnover between cases
- Assist with patient transfers to PACU and coordinate with team for transport, timing, and room readiness
Requirements
- Active RN license in Georgia (state-specific licensure required for assignment)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent OR nursing experience, with expertise in neuro and orthopedic surgery
- Experience with CERNER EMR
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts with on-call obligations in a fast-paced OR setting
- Demonstrated versatility for travel nursing, including exposure to robotics-supported cases
