Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care in the operating room for designated specialties, maintaining a sterile environment and patient safety throughout procedures.
- Assist surgical teams and anesthesia providers, prepare instrument tables, drape patients, and manage equipment and supplies.
- Monitor intraoperative patient status, including vital signs and anesthesia levels; respond to changes promptly and effectively.
- Administer medications per protocol and document perioperative events in the electronic health record.
- Communicate clearly with surgeons, nurses, and other OR staff; uphold counts, infection control practices, and safety standards.
- Willingness to float to all ORs as needed and to support other tasks required by the OR team.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Kansas or a Compact license
- AHA BLS certification
- Proficiency in ENT (trach/airways, head/neck flaps, ears, soft tissue cases), Neuro (burr holes, craniotomy), or surgical oncology (robotics)
- Willingness to float to all ORs
- Ability to work night shifts
