Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to adults and older adults on a 32-bed med-surg unit, maintaining safe nurse-to-patient ratios (approximately 1:5) and prioritizing patient comfort, safety, and timely interventions.
- Administer prescribed medications and IV therapies, including trauma-related orders and anticoagulation such as heparin, monitor patient responses, and address adverse effects per orders.
- Conduct comprehensive daily assessments, monitor telemetry when indicated, document findings accurately in the electronic health record, and communicate changes promptly to the multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with physicians, case management, physical therapy, and other services to implement individualized care plans and support efficient discharge planning.
- Maintain BLS and ACLS certifications; adhere to infection control protocols; utilize specialty equipment (gait belts, geriatric chairs, PT equipment) as appropriate for patient safety and mobilization.
- Complete required unit checklists and care documentation; participate in handoffs and onboarding activities, including ensuring patient and family education and proper transfer of care.

Requirements
- Active RN license and ability to practice in Georgia (or eligibility in a state permitting practice in Georgia)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Documented Med-Surg and telemetry experience; demonstrated ability to care for trauma patients and manage acute medications, including anticoagulants
- Comfortable working a night-shift schedule on a 2x3 Nights rotation and adapting to a high-acuity medical-surgical environment
- NICHE training or geriatric care experience a plus
- Onboarding requires submission of demographic information and a badge photograph for access credentials
