Responsibilities
- Operate fluoroscopic and radiographic imaging systems during diagnostic and interventional procedures; ensure optimal image quality, proper patient positioning, and appropriate equipment settings; perform post-processing and transmit images to PACS; follow ALARA and all radiation safety policies; document charges in Epic as required.
- When assigned, function as the scrub technologist using sterile technique to assist physicians during interventional and catheter-based procedures; prepare and organize sterile instruments, guidewires, catheters, sheaths, embolic materials, and trays; anticipate physician needs and maintain clear communication with the monitor person.
- When assigned, act as the primary monitor technologist, recording hemodynamic data, pressures, and procedural events; monitor physiological systems, allergy considerations, and document supplies used, implants, contrast usage, and procedural details accurately; communicate real-time findings to the team.
- Peri-procedure support: assist with patient preparation and positioning; verify allergies, NPO status, and renal function; perform timeout and procedure verification; assist with sedation under nursing/medical direction; monitor patient condition and assist with sheath pulls and vascular access management as needed.
- Contrast allergy management: collaborate with nursing and physicians to identify and address contrast allergies; participate in pre-procedure discussions regarding appropriate contrast agents; ensure allergy considerations are communicated during timeouts.
- Department support: manage supplies and par levels, restock and organize the room between cases; perform basic equipment checks and report malfunctions; track radiation dose metrics and ensure devices are cleaned, charged, and stored properly; work independently and maintain patient-focused care.

Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program; BS Radiologic Science/Medical Imaging preferred.
- Licenses/ Certifications: Current Oregon State licensure issued by OBMI; ARRT certification, RT(R); current BLS and ACLS certification (or within 6 months of hire); RCIS and/or NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology and/or Cath Lab experience with fluoroscopy, scrubbing, and monitoring; 3 years in IR/Cath Lab preferred.
- Skills/Abilities: Proficiency in operating fluoroscopy and radiographic systems; strong sterile technique and procedural preparation; ability to manage hemodynamic monitoring, contrast administration considerations, and device sizing; capable of working in imaging, scrub, and monitor roles as assigned; ability to work in a fast-paced interventional suite; knowledge of OBMI supervision rules and radiation safety.
- Other: Demonstrated teamwork with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary staff; excellent patient care and ethical conduct.
