Responsibilities
- Triage, circulate, and recover patients in PACU as part of the perioperative care team
- Monitor patient status, vital signs, and recovery progression; respond to changes per protocol
- Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical teams, and PACU staff to ensure patient safety and smooth handoffs
- Administer medications and interventions within scope and document care and patient responses
- Maintain sterile technique, infection control, and patient safety practices
- Provide patient and family education on recovery expectations and post-anesthesia instructions
- Complete required charting in the electronic medical record and ensure accurate, timely documentation
Requirements
- Active RN license and eligibility to practice in the United States
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts in a PACU/inpatient recovery environment
- Sound clinical judgment, strong communication, and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work in a high-volume recovery setting and to collaborate across surgical and anesthesia teams
- Ability to adapt to a travel assignment schedule and location
