Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility policy
- Monitor and document patients’ vital signs, condition updates, and response to interventions
- Perform basic nursing assessments, triage health concerns, provide wound care, and manage routine care needs
- Respond to emergencies, deliver timely first aid, and coordinate with the medical team for escalation as needed
- Maintain accurate, confidential nursing records in the electronic health record system and ensure compliance with all security and safety protocols
- Collaborate with registered nurses, physicians, and behavioral health staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care
Requirements
- Active LPN license in Vermont (or eligible to practice in Vermont per regulatory requirements)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Minimum clinical nursing experience; ability to perform essential nursing duties in a corrections setting
- Proficiency with electronic health records and routine documentation
- Ability to work in a corrections environment, adhering to security and safety policies
