Travel Registered Nurse ER Job
Registered Nurse – ER in Plattsburgh, New York, United States. Travel - Temporary Assignment starting 09/16/2026 for 4 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,276–$2,392. Guaranteed hours: 0.0. Shift: 12-hour nights (3x12). Working in a hospital ER setting with a 29-bed ED, supporting adult and pediatric patients.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to adult and pediatric ED patients, including triage, initial assessment, continuous monitoring, and rapid response to changes in condition
- Administer medications, establish IV access, manage IV drips, interpret EKGs, and provide basic respiratory treatments as prescribed
- Document care in EPIC, communicate with the interdisciplinary ED team, and coordinate with physicians, ancillary staff, and discharge planning
- Manage boarder patients, behavioral health patients, and infectious disease cases (e.g., COVID) within the ED assignment, while supporting safe patient flow
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy and other specialty teams; follow unit protocols for patient safety, infection control, and daily operations
- Adjust to fluctuating census and nurse-patient ratios (approximately 1:5, with potential for higher ratios during peak periods)
Requirements
- Current New York RN license or active license application with date of application on file; NY license processing may take 6–8 weeks
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC required; TNCC must be active or proof of class prior to start; NIHSS required prior to starting
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience; 1 year of ER or high-acuity ED experience preferred
- Epic experience within the past 2 years required
- Able to work rotating shifts (including nights) in a fast-paced ED and to function effectively in a busy, multi-disciplinary environment
- Prior travel experience preferred
