Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and ongoing occupational therapy evaluations to determine patient needs and goals in an acute care context.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at improving activities of daily living, mobility, cognition, and upper-extremity function.
- Provide evidence-based, goal-directed therapy and monitor progress, adjusting plans as needed to optimize outcomes.
- Document patient progress accurately in the electronic health record and communicate findings to the interdisciplinary care team; participate in care planning and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety strategies, and caregiver training to support continued recovery after discharge.
- Ensure adherence to facility policies, regulatory standards, and safety protocols throughout all therapy activities.

Requirements
- Active occupational therapy license in good standing (state-specific licensure required or eligibility to obtain NM licensure).
- NBCOT certification preferred/maintained.
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical OT experience; travel experience is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a skilled nursing facility environment and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
- Agencies must have a New Mexico caregiver account to participate in this assignment.
