Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including assessment and ongoing monitoring.
- Manage telemetric monitoring, IV therapy, wound care, pain control, and medication administration per physician orders.
- Assess patient status, develop and update individualized care plans, and coordinate discharge planning with the care team.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff; document accurately in the electronic medical record; ensure smooth care transitions.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, medications, and post-discharge care; reinforce safety and infection prevention practices.
- Respond to clinical changes and emergencies, participate in rapid response or codes as needed, and maintain adherence to patient safety protocols.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts; MA license required at time of submission
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in travel and trauma hospital settings; similar hospital experience considered
- Flu vaccine required prior to start; no religious exemptions
- Must be separated from the referenced employer for 6+ months to be considered; no locals will be considered
- No float requirement
