Position: Respiratory Therapist (Registered Respiratory Therapist) in Plattsburgh, NY. This travel, temporary assignment starts on 07/23/2026 and runs for 4 weeks. Responsibilities
- Deliver prescribed respiratory care for neonatal through adult patients, following orders and adjusting therapies as needed.
- Operate and troubleshoot ventilation and respiratory support devices, including Puritan Bennett 980 & 840 and LTV1200 ventilators.
- Perform patient assessments, collect and interpret ABGs, and adjust treatment plans in collaboration with the care team.
- Document in EPIC, manage Pyxis-based medication dispensing, and ensure accurate medication administration.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other disciplines; participate in rounds and uphold safety, infection control, and patient-centered care standards.
- Floats to nursery and ER and other hospital units as needed to support patient care and unit needs.
Requirements
- Active Respiratory Therapist license in New York (RRT) on file or eligible for submission
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP; NBRC verification
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of RT experience; neonatal/pediatric exposure preferred; EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years required
- Education: Associate degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts; willingness to rotate and float to different units as needed
- Reliable transportation is required due to limited public transit in the area
