Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care to adult and geriatric Med Surg patients, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care plans.
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications and IV therapies, perform basic wound care, and manage lines and drains as needed; respond to clinical changes and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team.
- Support respiratory needs with appropriate therapies (HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen) and assist with post-op and pre/post-surgical care as required.
- Perform procedures within scope (PICC/PICC management, central line blood draws, chest tube care, wound care) and participate in rapid response and code events when indicated.
- Maintain accurate Epic documentation of assessments, treatments, and patient progress; adhere to isolation precautions and infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with IV teams, respiratory therapy, PT, phlebotomy, radiology, social work, pharmacy, and other services to ensure comprehensive patient care; participate in transporting and interpretation services as needed.
Requirements
- Active RN license in hand at time of submittal; license must be valid in the practice state.
- BLS certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred; travel experience required; Trauma Level II experience preferred.
- Epic charting experience required.
- Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts; float option may be available if competency is demonstrated.
- Education not specified; clinical competence and ability to function in an adult/geriatric Med Surg environment are required.
