Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job
L&D Registered Nurse Manager position in San Luis Obispo, CA. Travel assignment begins 06/08/2026 for 13 weeks, with 40 hours per week on a 5x8 day shift in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting. This travel - temporary assignment requires leadership experience in Labor and Delivery and supports weekend on-call coverage.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Labor & Delivery unit operations, including staffing, workflow, and patient care standards.
- Ensure compliance with L&D policies and mandatory certifications (BLS, NRP, EFM) and monitor ongoing competency of staff.
- Oversee scheduling, coverage, and performance of the L&D nursing team; collaborate with obstetricians and multidisciplinary staff.
- Maintain accurate Cerner charting, documentation, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a daytime leadership presence with visibility to evening staff; exempt role with no OT billed.
- Support on-call coverage with a cadence that includes every 3rd weekend; prioritize patient safety and positive outcomes.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- 10+ years of leadership experience in Labor and Delivery
- Strong L&D clinical background required
- BLS, NRP, and EFM certification or demonstrated competency required
- Cerner electronic health record experience required
- Ability to work Day Shift with some evening visibility and weekend call as part of the schedule
