Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for ICU patients following established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Monitor patient status, interpret findings, administer medications and therapies as ordered, and respond to clinical changes with sound judgment.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and other disciplines to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; delegate tasks using critical thinking and professional discretion.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses; ensure accurate, timely charting and uphold patient safety and quality outcomes.
Requirements
- Current RN license in California or eligibility to obtain licensure for this assignment.
- ICU nursing experience or demonstrated critical care competency.
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week, for a 13-week travel assignment.
- Willingness to travel to and reside in the Bakersfield area for the assignment duration.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for a fast-paced, high-acuity setting.
