Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Med Surg, traveling assignment in Hilo, Hawaii. Start date 06/08/2026 for a 13-week contract. Weekly pay range $1,842–$1,929. Guaranteed hours: none. Shift: 3x12-hour Nights. Setting: hospital-based medical/surgical units with float coverage as needed.

Responsibilities
- Provide bedside nursing care to medical and surgical patients, with float coverage to Medical Unit, Laulima Unit (surgical Acute), and Cardiovascular Unit on rare occasions
- Monitor patient status, perform head-to-toe assessments, administer medications per orders, and document care in Meditech EMR; utilize Pyxis for medication dispensing
- Support wound vac management and chest tube care as needed; collaborate with the care team for timely interventions
- Promote patient safety and comfort; respond to changes in patient condition and escalate when appropriate
- Maintain professional standards, dress in clean scrubs, and adhere to unit-specific protocols and infection control practices
- Provide patient and family education, assist with discharge planning, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
Requirements
- Active Hawaii Registered Nurse license required by start of assignment
- BLS; ACLS required or strongly preferred; additional certifications (PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC) encouraged
- 2–10 years of nursing experience
- Ability to float to Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and Cardiovascular Unit as needed
- Willingness and ability to work 12-hour night shifts
- Must arrive the Thursday before start to complete employee health requirements and orientation
