Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care to a patient group in the Med Surg unit following established standards, the nursing process, and care plans.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes in patient condition with clinical judgment.
- Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and document all care accurately in the patient record.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans; coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; delegate within scope of practice and provide supervision as needed.
- Ensure patient safety, advocate for patients’ needs, and maintain compliant and ethical nursing practice.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- Med Surg nursing experience (travel or clinical) preferred
- Ability to work nights and adapt to a fast-paced inpatient setting
- Education: Nursing degree appropriate for RN licensure (e.g., ADN or BSN)
- Demonstrated critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
- Capacity to coordinate care with multiple disciplines and document care accurately
