Travel Registered Nurse PICU Job
Registered Nurse – PICU in State College, PA. Start date: 03/28/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,929–$2,058 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (1845–0715) with EOW/EOH. Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital travel assignment.

Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to treat human responses to life-threatening problems, based on AACN standards, for patients from pediatric through geriatric ages.
- Conduct ongoing assessments: health history and physical exams; prioritize problems; develop and implement a care plan; update discharge planning and referrals as needed.
- Manage life-threatening complications, maintain airway and ventilation, ensure hemodynamic stability and stable heart rhythm; recognize cardiac arrhythmias and respond appropriately.
- Maintain knowledge and skills in critical care practice; participate in required education and annual competency activities; stay current with relevant clinical updates.
- Document patient status and coordinate with the Unit Director/Manager and the care team to deliver safe, effective care.
- Assist with temporary pacemaker insertion and ambulance transport as needed, and support other emergent interventions per unit protocols.
Requirements
- Current RN license valid for practice in Pennsylvania.
- EPIC EMR experience preferred.
- Ability to work 3×12-hour night shifts and a schedule that includes EOW/EOH.
- Prior PICU/ICU or other critical care experience preferred.
- Ability to provide care for a wide age range within a critical care setting and to adhere to applicable policies and procedures.
- Commitment to mandatory education and annual competency requirements.
