Responsibilities
- Provide direct, professional nursing care to patients assigned to the telemetry unit, across age groups per unit scope.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care using the nursing process in alignment with the medical plan of care.
- Monitor telemetry data, recognize changes in patient conditions, and respond promptly; administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Collaborate with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate and optimize patient care; contribute to discharge planning and patient/family education.
- Delegate appropriate aspects of care to licensed/unlicensed staff based on current competence and scope of practice.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record.
Requirements
- Active, California RN license in good standing
- Graduation from an approved nursing program (e.g., ASN, BSN)
- Experience in a hospital inpatient setting with telemetry is preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a high-acuity telemetry environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to coordinate care across multiple disciplines
- Able to provide patient education and participate in discharge planning as part of the care plan
