Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to Med Surg patients in accordance with the nursing process and established standards.
- Collect and analyze patient data to determine diagnoses and care priorities; develop and implement a plan of care.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor for adverse events and respond appropriately.
- Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient patient care and smooth discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families, provide health information, and document care in the electronic health record (Epic) per policy.
- Delegate tasks to appropriate staff and supervise nursing support personnel; maintain a safe and healing environment.
Requirements
- Current RN license in California (state of practice) required
- BLS/CPR certification from an approved vendor
- Epic electronic health record experience
- Minimum two years of recent Med Surg or acute care nursing experience
- BSN preferred but not required
- Ability to float between Med Surg and Telemetry units as needed
