Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to inpatients, including adults in ICU and ED and general pediatric patients, per physician orders and unit protocols.
- Administer and monitor therapies: inhaled medications, oxygen therapy, humidification, chest physiotherapy, and airway clearance techniques; perform suctioning as needed.
- Manage mechanical ventilation and noninvasive ventilation within scope; monitor ventilator parameters, adjust settings as directed, and participate in weaning when appropriate.
- Monitor patient status and response to therapy; perform ABG analysis and track oxygenation and ventilation; document interventions and outcomes in the EMR (Epic) and communicate findings in rounds.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimize care plans; ensure equipment readiness, perform safety checks, and enforce infection control practices.
- Respond to respiratory emergencies and provide timely support to the care team as needed.

Requirements
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential with NBRC verification; CRT will not be accepted.
- Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP required.
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient Respiratory Therapy experience, including adult ICU, adult ED, and general pediatric care; teaching hospital experience required.
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is required.
- Prior travel experience preferred; ability to work a 3x12 night shift; weekends as needed; schedule flexibility.
- Ability to practice as an Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting; reliable transportation is recommended for the area.
