Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for obstetric patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status; administer medications as prescribed; manage labor progression and pain management.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with multidisciplinary team.
- Apply critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making in patient care.
- Document care plans, assessments, and patient responses; ensure patient safety, privacy, and comfort.
- Educate patients and families about care plans, procedures, and discharge expectations; support postpartum recovery and newborn care education.
Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of California (or eligibility to obtain) for practice.
- Relevant Labor & Delivery (L&D) or obstetric nursing experience preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a registered nurse licensure.
- Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts; ability to work in a high-acuity inpatient obstetric setting.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and clinical assessment skills.
