Registered Nurse - PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) travel assignment in Westwood, New Jersey. Start date: 05/04/2026. Duration: Weeks. Weekly pay: $1,894-$1,945 per week. Guaranteed hours: 0.0. Shift: 3x12-hour days. Setting: community hospital Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (Phase I PACU) that cares for post-op patients from general surgery, orthopedics, ortho-spine, and robotic cases. The unit accepts first-time travelers and serves adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Orientation is conducted weekly on Mondays, with 12-hour sessions and on-call requirements.

Responsibilities
- Provide Phase I PACU care for post-operative patients after general surgery, orthopedic, ortho-spine, and robotic procedures
- Monitor vital signs, manage airway, perform extubation when appropriate, and handle basic ventilator considerations
- Manage IV access, arterial lines, and administration of IV medications and blood products per orders
- Oversee pain management, including PCA and post-epidural analgesia; monitor PCA pump function
- Provide chest tube care, dysrhythmia recognition, and respond to emergencies; participate in rapid assessment and escalation as needed
- Document care in the electronic charting system and collaborate with surgical teams for safe patient progress and appropriate disposition
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
- Community hospital experience required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- EPIC charting experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced PACU/postoperative setting
- Experience with assigned patient ratios (1:4 days; 1:2 nights) preferred
