Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to individuals within a corrections health setting, including initial assessment, ongoing monitoring, and timely intervention as needed.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and established protocols, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record with attention to privacy and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the health care team and custody staff to coordinate care, maintain safety, and follow facility policies.
- Respond to medical emergencies, perform appropriate life-saving measures, and coordinate transfers when indicated.
- Participate in shift handoffs, rounds as assigned, and discharge planning to support continuity of care and patient safety.
Requirements
- Availability to work the scheduled shift: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
- Current registered nurse license in the United States; PA licensure or valid multi-state license preferred
- BLS/CPR certification (or as required by the setting)
- Prior nursing experience; corrections or acute care experience preferred
- Ability to work in a corrections health setting and adhere to safety and security protocols
- Ability to pass background checks and meet standard onboarding requirements
