Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to medical-surgical patients, including assessment, monitoring, and documentation
- Administer medications and therapies per physician orders; manage IV therapy and related procedures
- Perform ongoing patient assessments, update care plans, and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
- Document accurately in electronic health records; ensure adherence to clinical policies and safety protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate care and discharge planning
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and post-discharge care
Requirements
- Current registered nurse license active in Illinois
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or equivalent)
- Nursing degree (ADN or BSN) from an accredited program
- Med-surgical nursing experience; prior travel or acute-care experience preferred
- Ability to work Night shift with weekend and holiday rotation
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a hospital setting and adapt to a fast-paced environment
