Registered Nurse, Med Surg, Utica, New York. Travel - temporary assignment starting 11/30/2026 for 13 weeks with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adults on a Med Surg stroke stepdown unit, including frequent neuro checks and documentation
- Monitor and respond to changes in neurological status; perform NIHSS assessments as required
- Administer medications, manage IV pumps, and assist with feeding tubes and other tubes as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to implement and adjust care plans; coordinate with physicians, therapists, and case management
- Document care in the electronic medical record (EPIC) and ensure accurate and timely charting
- Adhere to infection control and isolation precautions; maintain patient safety and comfort; float to related units as needed
Requirements
- Active New York RN license (NURSYS verification) with all active RN licenses on file
- Current AHA BLS certification
- NIHSS certification or ability to obtain prior to start (unit requires NIHSS)
- 2+ years of Med Surg experience with stroke stepdown exposure; travel experience documented on resume
- EMR experience, specifically EPIC
- Valid driver’s license with address that matches demographics
- Willingness to float to related units as needed
- RTO (time off) must be noted at time of submission
