Responsibilities
- Deliver physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, focusing on residents in a long-term care setting.
- Implement and adjust individualized treatment plans addressing mobility, gait, balance, range of motion, strength, and pain management.
- Administer therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers, and ROM activities; monitor and document patient progress.
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team, families, and residents to support goals and safety.
- Ensure equipment safety, infection control, and proper documentation of treatment sessions and outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and facility policies, ensuring quality of care and patient safety.
Requirements
- Current Physical Therapy Assistant license in New Mexico or eligibility for licensure
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Ability to work in a long-term care setting and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
- Strong communication, documentation, and patient care skills
- Willingness to participate in a travel temporary assignment and commit to the contract duration
