Travel Registered Nurse Oncology Job

Lodi, CA
Contracted
Adventist Health Lodi Memorial
Mid Level
Step into a dynamic oncology nursing role as a Registered Nurse in California, specifically in Lodi, and begin a journey that blends expert clinical care with meaningful patient advocacy. This opportunity is designed for compassionate professionals who want to drive better outcomes for people facing cancer while expanding their skills across hematology/oncology, survivorship, and palliative care. Your daily impact will extend beyond symptom management and treatment administration to empowering patients and families with education, resilience, and hope. In this setting, you’ll collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, pharmacists, social workers, and care coordinators to design and adjust individualized care plans. You’ll join a network that values precision, empathy, and continuous improvement, and you’ll do so against the backdrop of California’s diverse beauty—from the sunlit vineyards of Lodi to the majestic drives along the coast and into nearby metropolitan hubs.

Location benefits and experiences
Lodi presents a welcoming, community-driven environment with access to high-quality healthcare facilities and a culture that honors work-life balance. The region’s character blends small-town warmth with robust regional amenities: quaint downtown streets, parks and trails for outdoor recreation, a thriving dining and arts scene, and proximity to major California destinations for weekend explorations. California’s climate offers mild winters and plenty of sunshine to sustain an active lifestyle outside of shifts. For clinicians who crave variety, this assignment also opens pathways to work at sites across the United States, exposing you to different patient populations, hospital cultures, and oncology programs. Those experiences can broaden your clinical perspective, deepen your proficiency with infusion technologies, and enrich your professional network, all while maintaining the supportive framework of a travel-ready team. The flexibility to explore multiple locations can be a powerful catalyst for career growth, resilience, and lasting professional satisfaction.

Role specifics, responsibilities, and benefits
As an Oncology RN, you will perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitor and administer chemotherapy, targeted therapies, monoclonal antibodies, and supportive infusions, and manage potential adverse effects with rapid, evidence-based interventions. You’ll lead symptom management for pain, nausea, fatigue, mucositis, neuropathy, and dehydration, ensuring timely communication with oncologists to optimize treatment regimens. Your duties include port and line care, venipuncture, accurate medication reconciliation, infection prevention, and meticulous documentation in the electronic health record. You’ll educate patients and families about treatment goals, side effects, nutrition, and survivorship planning, while coordinating with social work, nutrition, palliative care, and multidisciplinary tumor boards to align care trajectories. In addition, you’ll engage in quality improvement initiatives, participate in clinical trials when available, and mentor junior staff or new travelers and graduates.

This role offers a clear path for professional growth within oncology. You can deepen skills in infusion therapy management, survivorship planning, symptom science, palliative care collaboration, and advanced care planning. Opportunities for in-house training, certifications, and attendance at oncology education events support your ongoing development. The compensation package includes a competitive weekly pay range of $1,820 to $1,874, with potential for a bonus program recognizing performance or milestones. Housing assistance is provided to offset living costs in California, and there are extension opportunities that let you lengthen a successful assignment or transition to a permanent role with partner facilities. Flexible scheduling and travel arrangements are supported by a dedicated team, with 24/7 assistance available while you travel. A dedicated travel liaison helps with credentialing, onboarding, and any on-the-road needs, ensuring you have consistent support from start to finish.

Company values: empowerment, growth, and support
Our partner organization centers its culture on empowering staff to pursue meaningful career advancement within a collaborative, respectful environment. You’ll find mentorship, ongoing education, and resources that emphasize evidence-based practice, quality patient care, and professional integrity. The company actively fosters diversity, inclusion, and personal well-being, with programs designed to sustain clinicians through the demands of oncology care. You’ll join a community that values curiosity, patient advocacy, and teamwork, and that provides pathways to leadership roles, specialized clinical practice, and continued learning. This is more than a job—it’s a platform for you to shape your clinical identity, expand your impact, and advance your nursing career in a supportive, forward-thinking setting.
