Responsibilities
- Provide direct basic nursing care to patients in a corrections setting under supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
- Administer medications and document administration in the electronic health record according to policy.
- Monitor vital signs, assess changes in patient condition, and communicate findings to the healthcare team.
- Assist with triage, wound care, and routine nursing procedures within scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate, confidential documentation and ensure safety and security protocols are followed at all times.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to support patient care plans and coordinate necessary consults.
Requirements
- Active LPN license in Vermont in good standing.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Experience in a clinical nursing setting; corrections experience preferred.
- Ability to work night shifts and meet guaranteed hours.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and standard charting practices.
- Ability to pass background checks and security clearance requirements for corrections.
