Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Registered Nurse, PCU – Travel assignment in Hilo, HI. Start date 08/24/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,160–$2,272. No guaranteed hours. Schedule consists of 36 hours per week after orientation, with no on-call required. This is a hospital-based unit focusing on progressive care with telemetry support.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit and telemetry monitoring
- Perform frequent patient assessments, prioritize care, and implement care plans
- Monitor telemetry, read and interpret telemetry strips, and respond to abnormalities
- Administer medications and treatments using Meditech for documentation and Pyxis for dispensing
- Perform fingerstick blood glucose checks and manage respiratory support equipment (e.g., BIPAP) as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and assist with discharge planning as appropriate
- Maintain patient safety and respond to alarms and acute changes in patient condition
- Floats to other in-house acute units as needed (Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, ER)
Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment
- Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last 12 months
- Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
- Certifications: ACLS preferred; PALS preferred; NIHSS certification preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care setting and to float to all in-house acute units
