Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel) in Atlanta, GA. Start date 08/03/2026 for a 13-week assignment. Earn 1,620 to 1,736 per week with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Shift: Night, 12-hour shifts on a 2x3 schedule. Work on a high-acuity surgical trauma floor with a patient population that includes post-operative surgical patients, gunshot injuries, and complex spinal injuries. EPIC is the required EMR; BLS is required with ACLS preferred. This is a hospital travel assignment under Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for adult and non-acute to high-acuity surgical trauma patients, including post-operative and critical care–adjacent cases
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, and respond to changes in condition per physician orders and policy
- Collaborate with Nursing Support Techs, phlebotomists, and unit secretaries to coordinate patient flow and care activities
- Conduct and document comprehensive assessments, progress notes, and handoffs using EPIC; participate in ED-to-admitting unit transitions
- Uphold patient safety standards and assist with timely discharges and transfers; maintain 5:1 patient ratio on the unit
- Support the care team with admissions, routine procedures, and care coordination for complex injuries (e.g., gunshot wounds, quad injuries, paraplegia)
- Ensure adherence to shift-specific policies, including no block scheduling and no time off requests (NO RTO)
Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Med Surg or high-acuity surgical trauma settings
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- EPIC electronic health record experience required
- Ability to work night shifts and 12-hour blocks; flexible to assigned shifts
- Must be able to work on a high-acuity surgical trauma floor and participate in ED handoffs to admitting unit
- Education: Nursing degree (RN) from an accredited program
