Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to adults in Med-Surg and telemetry units, including assessment, planning, and implementation of care plans
- Monitor patient status and telemetry readings; identify and respond to changes in condition promptly
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments; document all care and medications in the electronic health record (Meditech)
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other team members; communicate clearly with patients and families as appropriate
- Maintain patient safety and comfort; follow unit policies, infection control practices, and safety protocols
- Float to similar units when needed; participate in orientation, skill checks, and unit-specific credentialing
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license
- BLS certification (ARC or AHA)
- Minimum 3 years of Med-Surg and telemetry experience
- Meditech experience
- Ability to work 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., 12-hour shifts; 3x12s; every other weekend and every other holiday
- Must be able to work Christmas Eve or Christmas Day based on unit need (no RTO on either day)
Education
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts; current BLS certification
