Responsibilities
- Assist during surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile field and providing instrumentation as needed to the surgical team under RN direction.
- Maintain and check items for proper packaging, processing, moisture, seal integrity, sterile indicators, and expiration dates; support patient safety and equipment functionality in the operating room.
- Monitor the sterile field for contamination or disruption and initiate corrective action under supervision.
- Build competency toward Tier 1 surgical cases and contribute to ongoing perioperative care within scope of practice.
- Communicate effectively with the perioperative team and participate in the Time Out process, including briefings and debriefings.
- Assist with patient transports, room turnovers, and room preparation; uphold professional behavior and currency in new technologies and procedures, including instrumentation and equipment.
- Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization as part of instrument handling.

Requirements
- Licensed Surgical Technologist in the state of Colorado (Colorado surgical technologist license required).
- Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program and/or Licensed Surgical Technologist.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Computer skills: ability to obtain required computer proficiency within 90 days for online learning, forms, and policies.
- English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking).
- HIPAA compliance; ability to work in a surgical setting.
