Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in the Emergency Department, including triage, assessment, treatment, and discharge planning for patients from newborns to geriatrics
- Monitor patient status, respond to changes, administer medications per orders, and document care accurately
- Collaborate with CNAs and the ED team to ensure safe patient flow and effective discharge coordination
- Maintain or improve patient safety through adherence to infection control practices, patient safety protocols, and standard policies
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team; educate on care plans and post-discharge instructions
- Document clinical actions, vital signs, and outcomes in the electronic health record per department standards
Requirements
- Active California registered nurse license (RN) in good standing
- Emergency Department nursing experience preferred or demonstrated competency in emergency care
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (3x12) in a fast-paced ED environment
- Proficiency in triage, assessment, treatment planning, and discharge processes for patients across all ages
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate with CNAs and multi-disciplinary staff
- Commitment to patient safety, compliance with clinical policies, and accurate documentation
