Responsibilities
- Manage Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) care for obstetric patients
- Triage obstetrical patients and provide newborn care per unit scope
- Circulate for C-sections and perform sterile vaginal exams as needed
- Monitor fetal status with wireless fetal monitoring; respond to obstetric emergencies
- Apply knowledge of PPH management (JADA device familiarity) and postpartum assessments
- Document in Epic; coordinate with PT, Respiratory, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, and Pharmacy
- Float to OB coverage across unit needs and, if required, to nearby sister facilities
Requirements
- Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at submission
- Certifications: BLS and NRP required; additional listed certifications may include CLC and STABLE
- Travel experience required; posting notes 3 years; client notes require at least 1 year OB/L&D experience
- Demonstrated obstetric nursing experience in LDRP care; ability to triage and manage acute obstetric needs
- Education: as applicable to RN licensure; ability to work in a small Critical Access OB setting
- Ability to work in a travel assignment with flexibility for float within scope; local radius 50 miles considered for submission
- Background: facility does not accept Nursys or background hits
- Return staff policy: may return after 3 months
- Pre-start modules: expected; average 16 hours non-billable (approval required for >20 hours)
