Responsibilities
- Provide direct, bedside nursing care for PCU patients on a cardiac-focused unit.
- Monitor vital signs, rhythm strips, hemodynamics, and patient status; administer medications and therapies per physician orders.
- Perform comprehensive assessments; develop and update care plans in collaboration with the care team.
- Document in the EMR (Epic) and ensure accurate, timely records of care, medications, and changes in condition.
- Respond to clinical changes and emergencies per protocol; participate in interdisciplinary rounds and discharge planning.
- Maintain patient safety, infection control, and quality of care, while adhering to unit policies and standards.
Requirements
- Active RN license appropriate for the assignment jurisdiction (Florida or as required by the assignment)
- Minimum 2 years of PCU experience; cardiac care experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- EPIC EMR experience
- Degree accreditation or 5 years of RN experience required
- Ability to float to other units as needed and work within a hospital PCU environment
- Submission readiness: readiness to load demographic information (address, email, full DOB, full SS, RN license number) at submittal
