Responsibilities
- Compound, prepare, mix, manufacture and dispense medications using a high level of technical and organizational skills.
- Exercise critical thinking to ensure accuracy, safety and appropriate dispensing of medicines.
- Oversee proper handling, usage and storage of drugs within the pharmacy and maintain departmental standards.
- Translate policies and procedures into daily operations and clinical activities to support patient care.
- Supervise and train assigned technical personnel and assume responsibility for technical support activities within the pharmacy department.
Requirements
- Active Pharmacist license (as required by state regulations) and the ability to meet licensure requirements for practice in Oregon.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or equivalent professional education.
- Experience as a senior pharmacist or in a hospital pharmacy setting; supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency with compounding, dispensing and drug storage practices; familiarity with regulatory standards.
- Ability to work in a hospital pharmacy environment with varied shift patterns.
