Travel Occupational Therapist Acute Care Job
Key Highlights
- Weekly pay: $2,226–$2,436 per week
- Guaranteed hours: 35 hours per week
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Float to nearby sites (Salinas and Kingsburg) as assigned
- Setting: Skilled nursing facility; travel - temporary assignment
Responsibilities
- Conduct occupationaltherapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans focused on activities of daily living, mobility, coordination, and upper-extremity function.
- Implement evidence-based OT interventions to improve independence, safety, and quality of life; modify activities and environments as needed.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team.
- Provide patient and family education on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, safety strategies, and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with nursing, physical therapy, social work, and case management to coordinate transitions between care settings and optimize outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with facility policies, regulatory requirements, and infection control practices; maintain equipment and assistive devices.
Requirements
- Active Occupational Therapy license in California (or eligible for licensure in California)
- Degree from an accredited OT program; ability to practice in a skilled nursing/acute care environment
- Relevant experience in acute care or skilled nursing facility settings preferred
- Strong documentation skills and ability to work within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team
- Ability to float to nearby sites (Salinas and Kingsburg) as needed
