Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg|Tele Job
Registered Nurse – Med Surg/Tele, Burlington, Vermont. Travel assignment starting 06/22/2026 for a 4-week contract on a hospital floor with 3x12-hour night shifts. Weekly pay: $2,122–$2,159 per week. Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including ongoing assessment, planning, and documentation.
- Administer medications and therapies per orders, including IV antibiotics, blood products, anticoagulants, and chemotherapy/biotherapy as credentialed or assigned.
- Perform IV starts, central line care and maintenance; manage infusion therapies and line-related complications.
- Monitor patients on telemetry, interpret basic rhythm strips, respond to changes in patient condition, and escalate promptly as needed.
- Support nutrition and GI care, including tube feedings, as ordered; manage infection prevention and wound/skin care.
- Document care in the electronic medical record (EPIC) and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to update care plans; adhere to unit policies and safety standards.
- Maintain competency in NIH Stroke Scale and other required certifications; participate in ongoing credentialing and quality initiatives as applicable.
Requirements
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Experience: Prior travel nursing experience preferred; oncology/chemo experience preferred; prior work in a large teaching facility is a plus; EPIC EMR experience from the past 2 years is required and nonnegotiable.
- Specialty/scope: Med Surg with telemetry responsibilities; oncology exposure preferred; willing to care for patients requiring IV therapies, blood products, and central line care.
- Additional: Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts; reliable transportation if local public transit is not available; ability to complete all employment history details as part of the submission.
