Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history
- Plan and provide nursing care, including nursing diagnoses and recommended treatment options
- Collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design appropriate treatment plans
- Administer psychotropic medications and other medications, noting reactions and adjusting as directed
- Monitor telemetry when indicated and ensure timely responses to clinical changes
- Maintain a safe, secure environment for staff and patients; monitor vital signs and assist with pain management per orders
- Document all patient information on medical charts, follow physician orders, and maintain patient confidentiality
- Complete administrative tasks such as progress notes and routine computer documentation; provide courteous service to patients and colleagues
Requirements
- New York State RN license (active)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Telemetry competency or experience
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts; willingness to participate in holidays/on-call/callback as required
