Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Prepare the OR, assist with instrumentation, and maintain sterile technique; collaborate with the surgical team and anesthesia providers.
- Monitor intraoperative patient status, document events, and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Position, drape, and transport patients as appropriate; ensure proper patient alignment and safety throughout procedures.
- Assist with Counts, specimen handling, and turnover between cases; support efficient room readiness.
- Communicate clearly with the multidisciplinary team and participate in postoperative handoffs and care transitions as needed.
Requirements
- Active RN license in the State of Montana
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a critical access hospital setting preferred
- Ability to work in a hospital operating room environment and during rotating shifts with on-call responsibilities
