Responsibilities
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to residents under the supervision of a licensed OT, focusing on activities of daily living, upper extremity function, and functional mobility.
- Implement treatment plans and therapeutic activities designed to improve grip strength, coordination, range of motion, and cognitive-motor integration.
- Document resident progress, treatment responses, and any changes to the plan of care in accordance with regulatory and facility policies.
- Communicate with the supervising occupational therapist and interdisciplinary team to adjust goals and ensure cohesive care.
- Adapt activities to residents’ abilities and safety level; monitor for adverse reactions and modify tasks as needed.
- Participate in care conferences and discharge planning as appropriate; provide caregiver education and home program recommendations.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current certification/licensure to practice as a COTA in Montana
- Prior experience in a rehabilitation setting, with preference for long-term care or skilled nursing
- Ability to work the Days shift on a 13-week travel assignment with guaranteed hours
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Eligible to work in the United States
