Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust plan of care within the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide explanations and instructions to patients and families regarding respiratory disease processes, interventions, and discharge instructions; confirm understanding.
- Deliver respiratory care as ordered by the physician and maintain open communication with medical and nursing staff.
- Accept reassignment to other units when necessary to support patient care needs.
- Share clinical knowledge with staff and students; serve as a clinical role model.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory care and document care appropriately.
Requirements
- Licenses: Active Illinois Respiratory Therapist license (RRT)
- Certifications: BLS; NRP-MHC
- Education: Associate degree in Respiratory Care
