Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient group in the Med Surg unit according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Assess data, identify care issues, and develop a plan with prescribed interventions to attain outcomes.
- Implement the plan, coordinate care delivery, and promote a safe, healing environment; monitor progress and adjust care as needed.
- Supervises and directs activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; delegate appropriately and coordinate duties with the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and treatment teams; provide health information and participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Document accurately in the electronic health record; participate in patient education and ensure smooth transitions of care.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California (state of practice)
- BSN preferred
- At least two years of recent experience in the Med Surg or acute care setting
- BLS or CPR certification from an approved vendor; Epic experience required
- Ability to float to Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units as needed
- Vaccinations may be required as a condition of employment
