Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized wound, ostomy, and continence care for assigned patients, including assessment, plan development, and ongoing evaluation of progress
- Perform wound care procedures and dressings per current standards; manage ostomy care when applicable; coordinate complex care with the interdisciplinary team
- Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record; ensure accurate communication with physicians and nursing staff
- Educate patients and families on wound care routines, ostomy care, and discharge planning; provide safety and infection prevention guidance
- Maintain compliance with AHA BLS requirements; uphold infection control practices and quality standards; participate in performance improvement activities
- Collaborate with the wound care team and other specialists to optimize healing, manage complications, and support overall patient recovery
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia
- Minimum of 2 years of recent, specialized wound care experience
- CWON or CWOCN certification required; wound care certifications WCC, CWS, or CWCN required; ostomy certification optional
- AHA BLS certification
- Ability to work in an inpatient care setting on a travel assignment
- Must comply with assignment requirements, including the no-local-candidates within 50 miles rule
- Eligible for, and able to meet, holiday scheduling obligations as specified
