Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services for inpatients under the supervision of an OT, focusing on improving independence in activities of daily living and mobility.
- Develop, implement, and adjust treatment plans based on patient assessment results and progress toward goals.
- Administer standard OT assessments, document progress, and update care plans accordingly.
- Educate patients and families on ADLs, adaptive equipment, energy conservation, and safety with daily activities.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (including PT, OT, nursing, SLP, and social work) to coordinate care and plan for discharge.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and adhere to HIPAA, safety, and infection control standards.
Requirements
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant credential with eligibility for Maryland licensure (or Maryland licensure as required).
- Current BLS certification.
- Ability to work in an inpatient rehabilitation setting on a Travel assignment with guaranteed 35 hours per week.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; comfort collaborating within an interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated adaptability to a 13-week contract with a 5x8 day shift schedule.
